ASAP is a testimony to the power of love. Created by two Peace Corps volunteers who met and married while teaching in rural Swaziland,  together they personally witnessed unbelievable poverty, abuse and corruption in rural Africa and felt compelled to do something to help.  This is why "A Self-help Assistance Program"  (ASAP) was created.

ASAP's mission is to cultivate self-reliance by empowering families. Since its creation in 1991, ASAP has helped thousands of families overcome seemingly insurmountable obstacles and increase their household income through entrepreneurship and education projects.

YOU can make a difference for a family striving to become self reliant. Volunteer, hold a tool drive, or post a fundraising event for ASAP. Check our Get Involved page for more opportunities to be a part of the success story.

YOU make ASAP's work possible. Your gift is  tax-deductible and helps families thrive. Over 90% of your donation goes directly to projects that empower women and youth.
